The perfect setup for combined precision milling and turning
As a Danish market-leading manufacturer of precision milled and turned as well as etched, punched and bend fine mechanical parts over the last 30 years, Mekoprint Chemigraphics has developed strong expertise and technologies to become a complete partner. When it comes to development and production of micro precision components, Mekoprint continues to invest in new technologies such as laser cutting, welding and engraving to meet the customers’ needs.
Milling and turning with one handling ensures the highest precision
Mekoprint Chemigraphics employs skilled staff, specialized in advanced precision milling and turning processing in the materials aluminum, steel, stainless steel and titanium.
“We have created the perfect setup for turning and milling of micro components that takes place in a climate-controlled environment. This gives us the opportunity to produce the most precise parts under the best possible conditions.
We are, among several other technologies, specialized in precision milling and turning of micro components. With our milling and turning technology, we are able to produce the most complex precision parts possible with tolerances as low as +/- 5 μm.
We work in a wide range of different qualities in aluminum, steel, stainless steel and titanium. However, we do offer an even wider variety of materials, and have recently launched a new solution in Mu-Metal,” explains Bjørn Mølbach Krogh, Design and Development Manager.
“We understand that precision and a high quality level is crucial for our customers. Therefore, with the state of the art measuring equipment GOM Vision System, our own quality management team assures superior quality with every delivery,” explains Benny Albrektsen, Division Director of Mekoprint Chemigraphics.
The machine park at Mekoprint Chemigraphics includes several machines that are specialized for high precision machining, for example the Willemin 508 MT2 and Mikron HSM 200 U LP with a tool magazine of 150 tools, making it possible to produce even the most complex items in one or two setups at the most.
The high-end ultra-short pulse laser with high productivity and maximum precision
The newest technologies at Mekoprint includes micro manufacturing with ultra-short pulse lasers for laser cutting, welding and engraving.“At Mekoprint the customers’ needs comes first, which why we invest in the newest technologies and competencies to meet these demands. The micro laser cutting is offered as a supplement to the etching and punching technology, where very high geometric precision or very narrow openings are needed in relation to the material thickness,” explains Benny Albrektsen, Division Director. The work area is 500 X 500 mm with the ability to cut in material thicknesses within 0,05 to 1,5 mm in many different materials, for example steel and stainless steel, nickel silver, brass, copper, aluminum, fiberglass as well as plastic materials such as PEEK.
The setup at Mekoprint for laser cutting of micro parts, has its clear benefits when it comes to high speeds, an incredible accuracy of +/- 0,01 mm and a minimal heat influence of the material. The fiber laser beam allows cutting of even the most complex geometries and the narrowest traces in the material.
“With a foundation of granite and direct drive of the axes, the machine can perform with a high process stability and a precision on the cutting on a level of +/- 0,01 mm, depending on the material and material thickness, for example, we cut a kerf of 0,025 mm wide, within +/- 0,01 mm in 0,2 mm thick stainless spring steel.” explains Jesper Schou, Design Engineer.
Complete sparring- and production partner
“Mekoprint is a serious and professional partner for manufacturing precision parts with high demands for tolerances and finish, with the further possibilities to produce prototypes, with the design and construction that your products need,“ explains Benny Albrektsen.
“This includes the possibility of surface treatment of a combination of in-house technologies for surface treatment at Mekoprint, e.g. Anodizing and painting that are complemented by a wide range of close business partners that provide various types of coating e.g. nickel / tin, nickel / gold or electro galvanization. Furthermore if there is a need for cleaning of the micro laser cut parts, we can, depending on the item, offer both mechanical and chemical cleaning,” he adds.
